The Government of Turkey has restored access to Wikipedia in the country, following an access block that has lasted almost three years. It was imposed on April 29, 2017 by the Turkish authorities, accusing the popular online encyclopedia of conducting a smear campaign against the government of that nation .

The Government considered that the Wikipedia was incurring such practices by allowing articles to be told about how it was coordinating with war groups. Now, it has been the Constitutional Court of Turkey that has ruled that the Turkish Government's measure was unconstitutional .

The institution's decision came on December 26, but the government agency in charge of the decision has not obeyed the Constitutional until the document, which can be read here (in Turkish), is has made public.
