Police have made an arrest in the first homicide of 2020.
Ryan Chambers, 34, was taken into the 43rd Precinct on Tuesday afternoon and is facing murder charges for the killing of Rahkeem Jennings on New Years Day, police said Wednesday.
Jennings was found by his girlfriend around 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 1 with gunshot wounds to his head and neck inside of her apartment at the Bronx River Houses on East 174th Street, police said.
Jennings’s girlfriend was taken in for questioning after the incident but was released without charges, police said.
Police sources say investigators are eyeing whether a love triangle motivated the killing.
